A Productive Strike and Next Steps

A Productive Strike and Next Steps

Wednesday 4/4 was truly a historic day at Loyola.

NTT Faculty stood up with support from Grad Student Assistants, undergrad students, tenured faculty, and union members, clergy and the poor people’s campaign from across the city.

Here is some press coverage of the strike and what’s at stake:

We are still committed to getting to a fair contract by the end of this semester!¬† Fellow NTT’s, here’s how you can help make that happen at this crucial time!

  1. Attend bargaining next week on Monday, April 16th at 8:30am and Wednesday, April 18th at 8:30am in Norville 114 (Media Room). We are at the critical point and I know everyone is very busy but attending the bargaining sessions next week is crucial. We need you to come to the bargaining sessions (especially on the 16th) as a show of strength and solidarity. As Dean (Fr.) Regan said in The Washington Post, ” we are expecting to get a collective bargaining agreement signed within one or two more sessions”. This means these next dates are very important and decisions will be made. RSVP here to join us at one or both of these sessions.
  2. Come and find out firsthand about the movement needed from the administration to reach a fair contract at the meeting today 4/11 (4-6pm in 616 Mundelein) or tomorrow 4/12 (12-2pm in 1403/1410 Mundelein). In addition to that update/information, we will be strategizing and voting on taking further action towards getting a fair contract.
